A press statement signed and issued by the Command PPRO, DSP Mary Malun contained that the suspect was arrested by the Pindiga Police Division following a tip-off by concerned members of the of the public.
DSP Mary Malum according to the statement further disclosed that other items recovered from the teenage suspect are the sum of N21,000 cash, three bundles of assorted wrappers and two pairs of canvas shoes.
Other items as contained in the statement are a pair of rubber palm shoes, one MP3 player, one Infinix Note mobile phone and 17 pieces of chocolate.
The PPRO explained that certain individuals within the town who noticed the unusual spending pattern of the suspect alerted the Pindiga Divisional Police Headquarters on 19th of August and following a thorough follow up, the suspect was promptly arrested.
The Police added that during interrogations, the suspect was said to have confessed to stealing the foreign currency notes from his unnamed Lebanese Boss who employed him in Kano as a domestic staff.

The Command further stated that the suspect has since been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Kano State Police Command which is the scene of the crime for further investigations and prompt prosecution.
The PPRO also stated that one Babangida Mohammed, 38 years old, was allegedly arrested for syphoning fuel from a fuel reservoir within the vicinity of an electricity transformer at Pindiga Township.
While assuring the citizens of the state of adequate security of lives and property, the PPRO called on the people to assist the Police in fighting crime by promptly reporting questionable characters to the Police station nearest to them.
