In line with its mandate to ensure professionalism, proficiency, and standards, the Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has trained 55 private guard personnel belonging to nine different private guard companies.
The training, conducted by the Department of Private Guard Companies (PGC), involved personnel from the following PGCs: A. Kolo Security Guard Ltd, Ampu Security Guard Ltd, and Silver Guard Security Ltd.
Others include Jewel Security Guard Ltd, Hardawa Security Guard Ltd, Pana Global Security Ltd, Arksego Security Ltd, Kombat Security Ltd, and Kings Guard Security Ltd.
Addressing the personnel during the passing-out ceremony, State Commandant Gyama Gyawiya declared that the NSCDC is saddled with the responsibility of licencing, monitoring, and supervising the activities of private guard companies in Nigeria, as contained in Section 3 of the 2003 and 2007 NSCDC Act as amended.
He also reminded them that their new profession requires courage, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility.
He further tasked them to conduct themselves professionally, maintain a high standard of discipline and ethics, and respect human rights.
Commandant Gyama Gyawiya urged them, as they move forward, to remember that their actions reflect not only on themselves but also on the industry.
He therefore charged them to embody excellence, loyalty, and commitment. He congratulated them on their new roles as ambassadors of the private security industry, as contained in a statement by SC Buhari Saad, Public Relations Officer, NSCDC Gombe State Command.
