The Mai Kaltungo, His Royal Highness,  Engineer Saleh Mohammed has conferred the traditional title of Matawallen Kaltungo on the Gombe State Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

This is contained in a letter delivered to the Governor in Gombe on Sunday by the Mai’s delegation, led by former Commissioner of Environment and Alkyabbar Kaltungo, Hajiya Sa’adatu Sa’ad.

The Mai said the conferment of the prestigious title of Matawalle was in recognition of the Governor’s uncommon integrity and leadership qualities which, he noted, have kept the state in the steady path of progress and development since his inauguration on May 29th.

The traditional ruler further acknowledged Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s efforts at engendering peace and unity, his developmental strides across the state as well as his disposition towards carrying all segments of the society along.

The Kaltugo community is also appreciative of Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s show of love and his recognition of the people of the area in his governance structure and assured of their unflinching support and prayers.

While accepting the title,  Governor Inuwa Yahaya thanked the Mai Kaltungo for the honour and promised to maintain the long-standing relationship between him, his family, his administration and Kaltungo community.

He said he is aware that Matawalle is an important chieftaincy title, assuring that he will hold it in high esteem just as he holds the traditional institution.

In the same manner and as a way of showing appreciation for the development brought to it, Kundulum Community in Akko LGA of Gombe state has held a special prayer session for the success of the administration of the State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The prayer session was also to thank the Governor for the construction of a road that will link the community with four other neighbouring communities in the state thereby opening up the entire area.

The road, which was the first road project awarded by the Governor on assumption of office last May at the cost of N1.7 billion, was earlier abandoned by past administrations in the state.

The District Head of Kundulum, Malam Shu’aibu Muhammad, commended  Inuwa Yahaya for choosing his community to be among the first beneficiaries of the first batch of projects to be executed under his administration.

He urged the Governor to provide more amenities to the community including potable water and electricity, among others.

The Chief Iman of Kundulum Juma’at Mosque, Malam Haruna Sale, said that they organised the prayer to express gratitude to Almighty Allah and Governor Inuwa  Yahaya, for witnessing such development that their forefathers were not opportuned to see.

The Walin Kundulum Ibrahim Shu’aibu called on the governor to keep working with the Community Social Development Project for more developmental projects in the community.

Meanwhile, Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa has received with sadness the news of the demise of Sheikh Modibbo Sule Herwagana who died today at the age of 71.

Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya described the late religious leader as a great scholar, who lived a simple life and spent a greater part of his life imparting Islamic knowledge and guiding people in the service of Almighty Allah.

The Governor further described the Sheikh’s death as a huge loss, not only to the deceased’s immediate family but the entire state.

He extended the condolences of the Government and people of Gombe state to the bereaved family as well as to the Tijjaniyya community and the entire Muslim ummah in the state and prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him  Aljannat Firdaus.
