Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya
GOMBE State Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has alleged that his predecessor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo left a paltry sum of N800m in the state treasury out of the sum of N5.7 billion he received as Paris Club refund from the Federal Government in his last week in office.
Inuwa Yahaya disclosed this Wednesday when the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, paid him the traditional Sallah homage at the Government House.
He further alleged that the Ibrahim Dankwambo led PDP administration squandered the state’s resources and left the state in “deep financial crisis, huge debt, decaying health and education sectors.”
The Governor, however, pledged that his administration will respect and work with traditional rulers to ensure speedy development of the state.

He added that he will give traditional rulers a chance to play their part in the development of the state because according to him, they deserve to be respected as royal fathers and custodians of people’s culture.
Though he described the task ahead of the administration as very daunting, the Governor pledged to work hard to deliver the mandate given to him by the people of the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the Emir had urged the Governor to work for the entire people of the state irrespective of their tribal, religious or political affiliation because according to him the period of politics is now over and what remains now is effective service delivery to the people.
The Emir also called on the people of the state to support the new administration with prayers and be patient with it assuring that the traditional institution will continue to play its advisory role as fathers to all.
