Following a recent report by a national daily on the deplorable condition and pathetic state of Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Dadin-Kowa which is a co-education secondary school Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Friday paid an unscheduled visit to the school in order to assess the level of infrastructural decay.
While at the school, the Governor lamented the state of the school’s infrastructure, blaming the previous administration in the state for the despicable condition of the learning centre.
He said, “Ever since I read about the school’s pathetic state in a national newspaper about a week ago, I resolved to pay an unscheduled visit to the school so as to validate what I read and take the necessary action”.
“I am here today, unfortunately, I learnt that students vacated the school this Thursday Morning for Holiday but what I saw today after being conducted round is appalling and beyond imagination, the deplored facility here is not far from the prison. In fact, prison is even better. With this poor learning environment, I wonder how a child studying here will have a desired knowledge for a brighter future”, he said.
