To this end, the Governor said that an Executive Order has already been issued by his administration for the establishment of the Bureau in the state and will be headed by a seasoned technocrat.

He said with the state currently battling with a paucity of funds, it is imperative to initiate reforms that will entrench prudence, accountability and transparency in governance.

The Governor further assured his guests that his administration will partner BPSR to ensure a smooth take-off of the Bureau in the state.

The Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi had earlier told the Governor that his agency was established to facilitate the building of Nigeria’s public service into a highly functional, professional, customer-focused and results-oriented institution.

He said that initiatives such as Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, (IPPIS) and Treasury Single Account, (TSA) are among numerous reforms brought by the government and have since proven beneficial to the federal and some states that have keyed into it.

While praising Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his dynamic style of leadership and disposition towards change and reforms, the Director General assured that Gombe state stands to gain a lot with a bureau of public service reform in place, assuring of his agency’s support to facilitate the smooth take-off of BPSR in the state.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of the latest version of the National Strategy for Public Service Reforms among other relevant publications to the Governor by the Director General as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Governor.
