The Adalci Group advocacy group of the party urged the members not to allow themselves to be used or be sold out to selfish politicians who do not have the interest of the party at heart.
The Leader of the group, Abubakar Aliyu who was a former gubernatorial aspirant of the party disclosed this while speaking with Journalists in Gombe on Tuesday, shortly after the town hall meeting and sensitisation campaign in Gombe, commending the party NEC for following the constitution of the party and instructing for party congresses at all levels in May 2018.
He said, “we hope that neutral Committees will be set at all levels to conduct congresses so that there will be justice to all members of the party, even though the timetable has been released and very close, the Adalci Advocacy forum insist that constitutional provision should be strictly adhered to in the conduct of the Congress as directed by the NEC”.
He added that “We also advise that the congresses should be conducted in compliance with the rules and regulations of the party as it is in the constitution.
It is not just to replace a vacancy as implied by the letter of the National Sectary, which he sent to INEC that an attempt to conduct any Congress, not in compliance with our constitution and directed by the NEC that will not be accepted by the members of the party”.
Abubakar Aliyu also said that the Congress committee should start selling aspiration forms to interested party members and to provide it to all members of the party and treat them fairly and including the ongoing EX-CO who are interested in contesting during the Congress.
