THE Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), under the leadership of the General Overseer, Pastor (Dr) E. O. Abina, on Sunday, April 14, 2024, supervised the Independence of the church in Canada from the GOFAMINT, North America.

The GOFAMINT in Canada, which has since birthed four Assemblies in Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg and Ottawa, was sown and nurtured by GOFAMINT, North America in 2003.

According to the National Secretary of the GOFAMINT, Canada, Pastor Paul Ojomu, the National Executive Board of the Church in North America decided to grant the church in Canada independence on December 17, 2023 and ratified by Pastor (Dr) Abina, the General Overseer.

The report added that the Assistant General Overseer, Foreign Mission, Pastor Sunday Adu, was instrumental to the Independence of the church in Canada.

In his goodwill message on the occasion, the General Overseer, Pastor (Dr) Abina, expressed happiness that the event took place while he was alive, adding, “It is evidence of strength, unity and growth.”

The Octogenarian General Overseer harped on love and unity among the members in Canada and quoted Psalm 133:1 to buttress his points.

The official inauguration saw the emergence of Pastor Sam Adusi as the pioneering National Pastor and Pastor Paul Ojomu as the National Secretary.

Members of the National Executive Board are Pastors David Oyela, Israel Sofolahan and Bunmi Adetula.
