For what started off as a movement to enable a more informed entertainment industry workforce, the “Talent Management Training with Godwin Tom” seeks to provide platforms that equip and cater to the information, skills and networking needs of young hopefuls.
Speaking on the partnership, founder and CEO of iManage Africa, Godwin Tom, said in a video, “For me, the true test of power and influence is in its distribution. Over the last three years, I have seen the power of creating opportunities for others. Nigeria and Africa at large are doing great delivering great talents to the world, but we do not have enough people helping to ensure that these stars get the best deals.
More importantly, we are not doing a great job creating our own solutions. If we won’t do it, then we must prepare the people who will. Too many people are in the business because they stumbled on it. We need more people who know why they are here. We need more professionals. The trainings are a good start for these conversations.”
Aside from the organising the training series, the renowned talent manager and entertainment consultant has over the years contributed massively in grooming and developing Africa’s most sought-after artistes. Some of the notable individuals include Wande Coal, Wizkid, MI, Beverly Naya, Waje, among others.
The management training will last for three months with courses such as talent management, social media and its relevance, media and PR, music and the law and much more. The students will learn about project management, interacting with mentors, partnering businesses, real life management situations, job opportunities, bi-monthly in-class sessions, weekly online classes, first-hand experience on the job and recruitment opportunities for entertainment business.
Scheduled to run through the months of September to November, registration, for the full programme has closed as activities have fully commenced.
