Nigerian youths have been advised to be God’s chaser, hence, shun every ungodly and crooked ways to become successful and be wary of the bandwagon of Japa syndrome as there are many opportunities in Nigeria.
The Vicar and Archdeacon of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Moor Plantation, Odo-Ona, Ibadan, Oyo State, Venerable (Dr) Adeyemi Jesulola, made this advice at the thanksgiving service of the 2023 youth harvest anniversary of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Odo-Ona, Ibadan, last Sunday.
Jesulola said, “Nigerian youth should make use of the best opportunities around them in a Godly way. The message of the text of the theme of the anniversary emphasised that no one could exhaust the blessings of God if we do His will.”
He further advised youths to live a righteous life so as to benefit from commensurate blessings individually and as a nation from God.
He noted despite the current difficult time in the country, which has become a threat to the future of Nigerian youths and anyone who has a better plan, one will meet God’s glory if one meets His conditions regardless of any geogaphical location.
“The fact is that if we trust God in Nigeria, we will not Japa. If the youths and our leaders do what God wishes us to do there will be commensurate blessings. We have more than enough in the land both physical and human resources to make things work.
“Mind you it is not easy for those that have Japa, if you ask them. It is the blessings of God that added riches to a man without sorrow. Once we meet the conditions, we are guaranteed a better future. What we need to go far in life is God. Youths must not be lazy. They should also shun the vices of the society,” he added.
While commending the youths of the church, the Vicar expressed his delight over the success of the one-week programme, noting that, “The youth of the church demonstrated unity and a new shift in achieving greater results. It was an excellent event and I pray that God will continue to grant them wisdom and understanding in all their endevours.”
The chairman of the 2023 Youth Harvest Committee, Mr Peter Akinriyibi, expressed his delight in the success of the anniversary, just as he advised youths to chase God, dwell more in the spirit, and allow Him to plan the ways to path.
The president of the Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF), Mr Olwaseyi Olushola, noted that the one-week event with the theme, “Manifestation New Glory”, featured activities including, prayer meetings, novelty match, Bible study, street evangelism, praise concert, and indoor games.
