In adherence to the directive of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) that all churches under the body should on Sunday show their grief by staging a peaceful protest against the act, GOFAMINT members marched outside their premises and prayed for peace in Nigeria.
While addressing the church on the issue, Pastor Akinola bemoaned that God is naturally not pleased with any nation that does not care about lives of its citizens.
He added that the ongoing killings across the nation particularly by Fulani herdsmen should be stopped immediately as the wrath of God will be on the perpetrators.
“There’ll be a total disgrace within the space of a year of all the people that are agents of trouble and deaths in this country,” he said.
Pastor Akinola stated further that a “former president once said that his ambition is not worth the blood of any citizen, I think that should be a template for all politicians.
“No matter how much infrastructure a nation invests in, if it is laid on wickedness then it will all go up in flames. The Christian community is highly disturbed and concerned, that is why we’re appealing to the conscience of our leaders to fear God and do the right thing.
“We implore the government to step up and arrest the people, for every blood of innocent citizens shed in this country especially that of Christians satan will pay in a hundredfold,” he said.
