For instance, at the old Parade Ground on Saturday in Abuja, two Nollywood actresses, Mercy Johnson-Okojie and Juliet Ibrahim stole the show.
The two actresses were the anchors of the Abuja edition.
But in the middle of the event, Mercy, whose talents seem incalculable by the day, grabbed a set of konga drum and began to harp on the musical instrument.
While the surprised audience were adjusting to the new set of skills of the versatile actress, her Ghanaian counterpart, Juliet Ibrahim, turned her back to the crowd and began to wriggle her waist.
The outcome of this combination was maddening and ecstatic for the crowd.
Not even the appearances of Nollywood legends, Richard Mofe-Damijo, RMD; Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama G and Kanayo O. Kanayo were able to shake the impact of that collaboration.
But the excited Mama G expressed appreciation to the audience for showing her so much love. She subsequently hailed all the Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa guests in the hall, ending it with a long shout of “Nigeria kwezuo nu o” in celebration of Nigeria’s unity.
The Professor Johnbull role player in the TV Drama Series, Kanayo re-enacted the Professor Johnbull linguistic ‘pripra’ on stage with an honourable reception.
However, the Marvin Records’ music sensation, Korede Bello, gave the show a different feel with his Butterfly and Mungo Park tracks among others. He was closely followed by his colleague in the record label, Reekado Banks, who delivered his Katapot, Oluwa Ni and other tracks in quick succession.
Energetic music talent, Yemi Alade, was in her best element giving the audience to wish, while the king of dancehall, Runtown, serenaded them with Mad Over You and 12 other hit songs to mark his 12th show in Abuja.
Biggest indigenous rapper, Phyno, came with his I Go Chop Your Dollars, So Far So Good, Financial Woman, Fada Fada and other hit tracks and was followed by his colleague, Nabania master, Flavour, who interspersed highlife with hip-hop to draw ecstasy from the crowd.
Nigeria’s music legend, Innocent Ujah Idibia, alias 2Baba, approached the stage crooning his all-time hit, True Love among other songs.
Omo Wobe exponent, Olamide Badoo was at home with the Abuja crowd which sang along with him as he did some of his hit tracks including Shakiti Bobo and Skekelobose.
The performance of the enigmatic twin, Peter and Paul of PSquare fame, was a clincher as it signalled the end of a thoroughly successful edition of the nationwide musical tour.
The next edition of the Mega Music Nationwide Tour holds at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island on June 17.
