The city of Lagos came alive when the convener of the Handmaidens Women in Leadership Forum, Pastor (Mrs) Siju Iluyomade, hosted women from all walks of life as part of her efforts to celebrate as well as empower women, just as popular saxophonist, Beejay Sax, also thrilled the people at the event.
The event has remained the talk of the town following the glamour and excitement it recorded as the convener, guests and participants stormed the venue with various fashion statements and styles.
The event tagged: “Women in Leadership Series” (WiLS) 2019 edition, at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, was also graced by the wife of Lagos, Ogun and Edo state governors, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo Olu; Mrs Bamidele Abiodun and Mrs Betsy Obaseki; wife of the Speaker, House Representative, Mrs Salamu Gbajabiamila; the keynote speaker, Olapade Olufunmilayo Falusi a medical oncologist and cancer geneticist) and Rear Admiral Itunu Hotonu (rtd), among other dignitaries.
According to Iluyomade, the event, with the theme: “Leading Women- Building Legacies,” was part of her mission to empower women to fulfill their destinies in Christ.
“With a vision to build a network for women to leverage on and grooming up-and-coming ladies, the conference holds yearly and has never lacked massive audience. Comprising a wide range of personalities from the media to top bank executives, over 4,000 people were in attendance at this year’s event.
Iluyomade urged women to maximise their talent, strengths and skills to do what matters, adding that “legacies are built when we monitor our impact on others. Furthermore, lasting legacies are built when poor or maleficent behaviours and attitudes that dilute impact are done away with.”
