The General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Reverend Felix Meduoye and other clerics of the church, during the 5th District Convocation of the Ipakodo District, Ikorodu, Lagos State, last Sunday.

The headquarters of the Foursquare Gospel Church was shifted to one of its branches, precisely at the Ipakodo District when the district hosted the General Overseer of the church, Reverend Felix Meduoye, alongside other top ministers and dignitaries from all walks of life at the grand finale of the 5th District Convocation 2018.

The auditorium of the Foursquare district headquarters, at FRCN Road, Ebute, Ipakodo, Ikorodu, Lagos State, last Sunday, came alive when Reverend Meduoye ‘stormed’ the venue, as his first visit to the district, as well as identified with his following in the part of Lagos.

The leadership of the Foursquare church, who could not resist its joy because of the warm reception, expressed its delight to celebrate with the district on the occasion.  “The Holy Spirit wants me to be here and I am delighted to be part of this historical event. I have actually come to bless Ipakodo and they must be blessed in Jesus name.”Meduoye said

He seized the occasion with the theme: “Faith for New Heights” to reveal that God was  the reason behind how he had been able to overcome the challenges in the leadership of the church over the years.

He, however, charged Christians at large that the only way to overcome the present trying times in the country was to look unto God and focus on Him.

Speaking on the insinuation in some quarters that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), is not doing enough to protect christians over killings and attacks on them in the northern part of the country, the General Overseer, disagreed  “You will know that this is a secular nation and it is very difficult for any particular ethno-religious groups to push its way through.

I thank God as the present president has done quite a lot as far as am concerned. He has called on Christians to collectively pray for the peace of the nation, as well as shown that they are not happy with the concurrent killings in the country.” he said.

He also said that he is optimistic on the upcoming annual convention with the theme: “The Almighty God.” Stressing that “Anywhere you find such a theme,: you know something great is going to happen and I want to assure everyone that attends God will indeed show that He is the Almighty.”

The highpoints of the event included instrumental display, music presentation of both the children and adult choir. The thanksgiving service of all the zones including Owode, Estate, Aga, Royal Palace, Ipakodo, which constituted the district, set agog the auditorium as everyone were elated to thank God for the success of the event.
