HRH Onunkwo spoke to newsmen in an interview after receiving a certificate of immortalization/Academic Award from the management of Crown Point International School of health science and technology, Owede, Ogun State, yesterday at Ozobulu, Anambra State.
Reacting to the ‘Not Too Young To Run’ Act recently passed by the National Assembly, he Eulogised the performance of the youth, saying many have excelled in different fields, especially in the academic, economic, administrative and management spares of life in Nigeria.
He maintained that they will even perform better than the present cadre of politicians, whom he described as ‘analogy based, old-fashioned and reckless’.
Citing the Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Chukwu-Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and General youth Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) who he recalled took over the mantle of leadership, as the Governor of Eastern Region and Head of State, respectively, at ages of 20 years plus; industrialists like Innocent Chukwuma, the CEO Innoson motors among others, he argued that, “if they could perform well, why not the youth of present generation of internet age?”.
He argued that with their (youths) exploits and indebt knowledge, we cannot doubt their capacity and ability to turn this country around for the better.
Continuing, HRM Eze Onunkwo who because the Eze Ndigbo in the continuous act the age of 29 years, said, “I believe in our youths, they can make the meaningful impact and will move Nigeria to the next level.
I don’t have any fear of the youths taking over leadership.
“Leadership is not by age,…our youths are well grounded on leadership and global knowledge.
Children of today are wiser,… at 12 years, they have known much and some have become wizards on computer manipulation, solving scientific problems and other related problems.

Condemning the leadership style of our elders and politicians, he blamed them for our static position, insisting that, ‘that’s why Nigeria is not moving forward’.
