Give Tinubu more time to address economic challenges, APC chieftain tells Nigerians

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye has urged Nigerians to give President Bola Tinubu a little time to address the economic challenges in the country.

Oyintiloye, a member of the defunct APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), said that with a little patience, all the challenges Nigerians were passing through would be a thing of the past

He said this while speaking with newsmen on Sunday in Osogbo.

Oyintiloye, who acknowledged the fact that Nigerians were passing through a tough time, said the president was not also sleeping over it but rather working day and night to fix the economy.

The APC chieftain also appealed to Nigerians to remember that the economic crisis the country was passing through was not created by the president but rather it was an inherited, aged long economic crisis

He, however, said that all the economic policies that the president was putting in place might look tough but were put in place to put the country on the path of economic prosperity.

Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker, said that Tinubu assumed office when the economic was nosediving, which required systemic reforms and understanding of Nigerians.

He said that while the president was gradually fixing the economy, he needed the patience, prayers, and support of all Nigerians to get things done.

Oyintiloye, who noted that the president’s economic policies had started to show results, said that though they were minimal, the future might be less challenging

He said that with the president’s focus on economic reforms and diversification, he was championing policies aimed at revitalising other sectors of the economy, particularly agriculture, manufacturing, technology, marine, and blue economy

Oyintiloye said that Tinubu had launched the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), which would help stimulate economic growth through targeted investments and reforms.

“Several initiatives are being implemented to improve the business environment, attract foreign direct investment, and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

” With a little patience, things will be well again, and Nigeria will rise again,” he said.
