South African-based Nigerian artist Ajimisan Gift Ebunoluwa, known professionally as “GIF3RD,” delighted fans last night with an unexpected virtual concert, where he performed unreleased tracks from his upcoming EP *NO DOUBT*. The singer and songwriter took to Instagram Live, surprising his followers with an impromptu performance.
Earlier in the day, GIF3RD had hinted at the surprise on his Instagram profile, @gif3rdd, encouraging his followers to stay tuned to his stories and IG Live for something special. He explained that he chose Instagram Live for this performance because it allowed fans from around the world to join in and experience the event for free. He saw this as the perfect way to keep his audience updated on his forthcoming EP and other projects he’s been working on.
GIF3RD expressed that the performance was done in a spirit of gratitude, as a way to thank his fans for their ongoing support over the years. “Performing some of my unreleased songs from the upcoming EP was not only a way to give my fans a sneak peek, but also to gauge their reactions,” he shared.
He also highlighted the power of social media platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Triller, and Twitter in helping artists and entertainers connect with their audiences in real-time. “The internet and these platforms have made it so much easier for us to interact and communicate with our fans,” he said.
Reflecting on the experience, GIF3RD added, “I had a great time performing and interacting with all my followers and fans. It was an insightful experience, and I’m more motivated than ever to finish the EP and release it as soon as possible.”
Fans can now eagerly anticipate the official release of *NO DOUBT*, knowing that they’ve already had a preview of what’s to come from one of the most promising artists in the diaspora music scene.
