Get your PVC ready, Oshiomhole tasks party supporters in Edo

APPARENTLY unruffled by the gale of defections within the ranks of the All Progressive Congress (APC), the National Chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has hinged the salvation of the party in the forthcoming election on the Permanent Voters Cards (PVC).

Oshiomhole who breezed into the Edo state capital yesterday for the first time since his election as party boss called on the party supporters to see their cards as the best weapon to battle the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) rigging machine in next year polls.

Oshiomhole who spoke at the Benin Airport shortly after his arrival from Abuja on his way to Sapele, Delta state for a meeting alleged that the opposition parties are oiling their rigging machine to rig out APC from power.

“The only way to checkmate them is to secure your PVC as your instrument to withstand them on the day of the election,” he said.

He, however, called on the party supporters in Edo state, especially the youths to have confidence in the party as their complaints of neglects was already receiving attention at the appropriate quarters.

He said, ” let me quickly remind you, the youths in particular that you should disabuse your minds of being used and dumped, there is nothing like that, APC has provision for everybody, you should have confidence in the new leadership of the party.

Oshiomhole, who alighted from the aircraft with registration number N770MS and was moved by the mammoth crowd at the Airport to welcome him thanked the youths, market women, politicians and well-wishers for their prayers and support that propelled him to the topmost position in the party.

According to the former Edo state governor, “I want to assure you of the tradition of carrying our people along will be sustained. You represent what I call our infantry division, you are the one on election day that ensures our voters come out.

“You are the one who ensures that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the rigging machine was defeated. We must keep you as standing forces together, we will march all and we will ensure that anyone who worked will be taken care of.

“I know that there are people with all kind of stories, but let me assure you after the storm, the weather will settle. Since you did not abandon me, I will never abandon you too.

“And to our youths, I want to particularly appeal to you, do not lose faith, there will be war, there will be participation, there will be involvement and crucifying, we will not throw away anybody. Nobody will be used and dumped.

“If yesterday has not been too beautiful, tomorrow will be better. I am back home as they say. Women are my wives and we must sustain that oneness. All APC women know my position, together we shall work and reign.”
