Gender disparities should be prohibited

Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

Gone are the days when nobody ever paid homage to women either publicly or privately as they were seen as inferior beings in all ramifications.

An interesting fact is that a mono-gender gathering usually lacks flavour. It is an act of barbarism to reduce a woman’s personality to nothing in society as they have their own vital roles to play through their natural endowments.

For instance, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was the first elected female Head of State in Africa. She served as the 24th president of Liberia from 2006 to 2018. There was never a time she was molested by males around her before she eventually became Head of State.

African men are expected to learn from such precedent as it would immensely encourage women to get involved in politics. The truth of the matter is that both genders are needed in politics to make use of their natural endowments to pursue innovations for the transformation of the country.

When it comes to the application of ideas to solve complicated issues, women should not be ignored. They should be allowed to make their contributions as no one has monopoly of knowledge. Dr. Dora Nkem Akunyili was the first female to hold the position of NAFDAC Director General. That was between 2001 and 2008. She was highly effective in regulating and controlling the manufacture, importation, distribution and use of food, drugs and medical devices. Men in positions of authority in all sectors are implored not to be hostile to the females in their midst any longer.
