Gasma turbanned as Otun Asiwaju Adinni of Saki

THE Grand Chief Imam of Sakiland, Sheikh Abdulazeez Jejekumi, has turbaned Dr Adeniran Adeyemi Gasma as the Otun Asiwaju Adinni of Saki, Oyo State.

Gasma was honoured with the title during the celebration of Sheikh Jejekumi’s 20th anniversary as the Chief Imam (spiritual leader) of Sakiland held recently in the community

It was a moment of prayers, celebration and thanksgiving, as hundreds of Muslim adherents trooped out to rejoice with Sheikh Jejekumi on this milestone anniversary.

Sheikh Jejekumi described Dr Gasma as a man whose mind and orientation had been rightly framed and well-cultivated for the role God has crafted him to play on the stage of life.

The general acceptance and ovation that trailed the announcement of Gasma was not surprising to those who have been following the remarkable tapestry of his just-turbanning.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that the choice of Gasma as the Otun Asiwaju Adini was a well- thought-out decision after a rigorous process by the dedicated committee on chieftaincy.

Dignitaries from all walks of life at home and in the diaspora graced the occasion, including politicians, captain of industries, traditional rulers, among others.

Jejekumi further said that Gasma has a enviable record of contributions as an agent of community and national development, who is committed to Islamic causes that shape and influence sociopolitical and economic transformation of Saki and its environs, saying; “Gasma has contributed to the growth and development of Islamic institutions, construction of ultramodern hall to Muslim Nursing Schools in Saki, while promotion of charity life helping to construct and complete various mosques in Saki and environs are not left out.

“Other achievements include scholarship to indigent students, free healthcare services and social welfare, sponsorship of many Saki indigenes and envious to hajj is unprecedented,” Jejekumi said.

In his remarks, the new Otun Asiwaju of Saki thanked Sheikh Jejkumi and the Muslims community in Saki for the honour and promised not to relent on his oars.
