Irked by his failure to honour its summons, the Senate Committee on Gas once again requested that the Managing Director of Nigerian Gas Marketing Company Ltd, Justin Ezeala, appear before it.
The Committee requests details of gas sales, purchase agreements with gas companies, and non-compliance with due process in the Auto Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Project with Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company (NIPCO) Gas. It is also demanding financial details on the Auto CNG Project with NIPCO.
Checks revealed that the Committee, led by Senator Jarigbe Jarigbe, resolved to summon the Managing Director of Nigeria Gas Marketing Company Limited after a closed-door session on Wednesday at the National Assembly.
The Committee is peeved that the Chief Executive Officers of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) subsidiaries, acting on the instruction of the Group Chief Executive Officer of the oil corporation, Mele Kyari, have been ignoring the summons of the Senate Committees.
The Committee has, therefore, resolved to use the relevant provisions of the constitution to enforce the appearance of the Managing Director of Nigerian Gas Marketing Company Ltd if he fails to honour the committee’s invitation again.
