There was a fire incident at one of the retail outlets of ExxonMobil on Awolowo Road, Opposite the Airport Hotel in Lagos.
Emergency responders said that a gas cylinder was reported to have exploded at about 11 am, affecting six cars (both commercial and private vehicles) and the second floor of a two-storey building close to the gas station.
There are no reports of death as of the filing of this report, however, two adult males who were severely burnt have been rescued and rushed to the nearest hospital.
The Agency’s Response Team alongside Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, NEMA, LASBCA, and the Nigerian police, are currently at the scene.
The fire is said under control, as it was quickly contained by the Agency’s LRT and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to prevent it from escalating to the surroundings.
The operation is still ongoing.
