Gani Adams, Sunday Igboho should join forces in Yoruba’s interest — YSDM

The Yoruba Self Determination Movement (YSDM), under the leadership of Professor Banji Akintoye, has urged the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams to join forces with Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho, to fight what it described as common enemy of Yoruba land.

The group made the call in a statement by its general secretary, Mr Moses Abiodun Ojo.

Claiming that the Yoruba land continued to face incursions, the group said it expected the duo with similar ideals should come together to fight for the emancipation of the Yoruba people from the existential threats.

Among others, the group noted that the South-West geopolitical zone was intermittently confronted from herdsmen/farmers clashes, acts of terrorism and criminality.

The group noted that the duo of Iba Adams and Adeyemo should stand as fearless defenders of the Yoruba and guardian of our national heritage, and cautioned them against divisive utterances detrimental to the Yoruba cause.

The YSDM said it was noteworthy that Igboho had championed the Yoruba freedom cause for several years at inestimable personal costs to his freedom, his businesses, his families, and his life, as well as prioritized interests of the Yoruba people above his.

It also noted that Iba Adams had consistently expressed his readiness to fight insecurity in Yoruba land.

Consequently, the group stressed that it would augur well for Yoruba land for the duo to join forces to fight for the security and interests of the Yoruba.
