KANO State Government is ready to establish 10 cluster workshops in the three Senatorial zones to enable youths trained in automobile mechanic to be gainfully employed.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje stated this in Kano on Wednesday at the graduation ceremony of 150 youths trained in automobile mechanic at Peogeut Automobile of Nigeria, PAN, Kaduna.
He said establishing the cluster workshops was necessary in view of the fact that the state government had made huge investments in training of the youth.
“The state government has made huge investments in training of the youth as no fewer than 72 of the first batch are now attached to three service centres established by the government,” he said.
He said the 150 trainees comprising 50 women and 100 men, would receive working tools in addition to N50,000 each to enable them to establish their business in their respective areas.
Ganduje said the state government had selected another batch of 200 youths to go for similar training in PAN Kaduna pointing out that the beneficiaries were selected from the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.
He said the training which would cost the state government over N420 million, was expected to commence soon.
