Ganduje
The government said, rather, it was Ganduje’s convoy that rescued six people, including a pregnant woman, from armed robbers on the Plateau State road.
Director-General, Media and Communication, Alhaji Salihu Tanko Yakassai, in a statement, on Saturday in Kano, it said the attention of the Kano State government had been drawn to a report circulated by a section of the media that the convoy of the governor, was attacked by robbers in Plateau State, describing the report as “totally imaginary and misleading.”
He said: “To set the records straight, indeed, Governor Ganduje travelled in a convoy to Jos from Abuja to commiserate with his colleague, Governor Simon Lalong, whose brother passed on.
“On their way to Jos, on approaching a point at Hayin Kibau, the convoy saw a car stopped at a roadblock, mounted by suspected armed robbers.

“As soon as the robbers sighted the governor’s convoy, they dispersed into the nearby bush and left their victims stranded along the road.
“Consequently, the convoy stopped to rescue the six victims of the robbery, including a pregnant woman, while armed policemen fired gunshots into the air, as a precautionary measure, to douse any threats.”
He also said the “victims were taken by the convoy to a police checkpoint in the area for further investigation and assistance.”
