Gabam is an astute young politician ― Emir of Dass

VICE Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Shehu Musa Gabam has been described as an astute young politician whose political pedigree is worthy of emulation by other politicians in the quest to stabilise the political arena of the country particularly as the country marches towards the 2019 general elections.

The views were expressed by the Emir of Dass in Bauchi state, Alhaji (Dr) Usman Bilyaminu Othman II when he received a delegation of the Bauchi State chapter of the SDP that paid him a royal Courtney visit in his palace in Dass on Sunday describing the Vice Presidential candidate as “Our son in whom we are well pleased.”

The Emir who showered accolades and encomiums on the emergence of Alh Shehu Musa Gabam as the Vice Presidential Candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) said that, “Shehu Musa Gabam is a son of the soil. His trajectory in the political arena in time past till present in Bauchi State in particular and the nation at large stood him tall amongst his contemporaries. We are indeed overwhelmed with his emergence. He has our blessings from the Emirate Council.”

While wishing him success throughout the journey to nationhood, the Emir said that politics should be played in accordance with the rules eschewing bitterness and hatred because according to him what the country needs now is peace and peaceful coexistence.

Earlier while speaking, the Speaker, Youth Assembly of the party, Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan explained that they were at the palace to officially inform the Emir of the latest political development in the state with the emergence of Shehu Musa Gabam as the vice presidential candidate of the SDP.

The State Executives council members of the party led by the State Secretary, Mohammed Aminu in Bauchi also told the Royal Father that they paid him a courtesy visit to his palace in order to seek his blessings on behalf of the vice presidential candidate who they assured will soon visit the state to present himself to the people of the state.

While going down memory lane of politics in the country, Sani Hassan described the SDP as a national political party considering the fact that it remains the only party that has produced the widely accepted election result devoid of religious colouration having produced late Abiola as presidential candidate and Kingibe as running mate in a Muslim /Muslim ticket.

They then thanked the Emir for the warm reception accorded them and assured him that the party will ensure that the traditional institution was accorded its place of respect in the scheme of governance in the country.

The Bauchi SDP concluded that: “Is no longer news that Alh Shehu Musa Gabam is an embodiment of intelligence, benevolence and excellence. His integrity, capacity and capability cannot be overemphasised. His administrative acumen and intellectual faculty are unquantifiable.”
