The authorities of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, have expelled six students for bullying and beating up a female student identified to be Boluwatife Adekunle, a few weeks ago outside the campus of the institution, inside a private hostel on November 16.
The expelled students include; Popoola Olaniyi, 300L; Oluwadare Tobiloba, 200l; Nandi Jessica,200L; Ajuwon Emmanuella, 100L; Emmanuel Taiwo100L and Alao Cecilia 100L.

The expulsion was confirmed by the deputy director, corporate communications of FUTA, Mr Adegbenro Adebanjo, on Tuesday.
Adegbenro said the development was as a result of the disciplinary panel set up by the management of the institution concerning the matter and adjudged them culpable of gross misconduct and breach of the university matriculation oath.
The six students, who were earlier suspended by the institution were expelled on Tuesday.
The expulsion is in line with the position of page 48 of the 2019/2020 students handbook which prescribes expulsion from the university for students who engage in physical assault or battery on another student outside the university premise, spokesperson for the school, Mr Adegbenro Adebanjo, said in the statement.
