FUT, Minna signs MoU with Niger State Polytechnic

Published by

The Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, Niger State, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, in order to enhance educational training research in the area of engineering and technology development.

The vice chancellor, FUT, Minna, Professor Abdullahi Bala, while speaking during the memorandum signing on Thursday, 14th March, 2019 at the VC’s conference room, commended the polytechnic for its interest to collaborate with the university to promote science and technology development.

Professor Bala, however, noted that when he came on board almost two years ago, FUT Minna had affiliations with different institutions in Nigeria, but none with the institutions within the state.

He thereby told the head of the Directorate of Collaborations, Affiliations and Linkages (DCAL) to meet with the polytechnic to have affiliation programme with the university with the view to improving their science and technology.

While praying for a very good working relationship and implementation that would be a credit for the two institutions, the vice chancellor said that some of the problems the university has with some of the affiliate institutions are admission and examinations management.

In his remarks at the occasion, the rector, Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, Dr. Umar Ahmed Egbako, thanked the vice chancellor and the management for a good reception accorded him and his management team, assuring that they would abide by all the regulations and provisions of the memorandum.

Dr. Egbako also promised to join hands with the FUT, Minna management in terms of admission of students.
