Funke Akindele ignores Fathia Balogun’s tantrums, focuses on UK premiere of new movie

The tension between Nollywood stars Funke Akindele and Fathia Balogun has taken center stage in the entertainment industry, with fresh revelations highlighting the strained relationship between the two.

Despite the growing buzz around their fallout, Akindele appears determined to sidestep the drama, focusing instead on the international premiere of her movie, Everybody Loves Jennifer.

Sources close to the actresses suggested the feud began over Balogun’s perceived indifference towards Akindele’s project. While many of the cast actively promoted the film on their platforms, Balogun’s silence reportedly disappointed Akindele, who expected more support given Balogun’s role in the movie.

Akindele’s decision to block Balogun on Instagram shortly after the movie’s release has added fuel to the speculation. Insiders claim this move was Akindele’s way of cutting ties after feeling let down by her colleague’s lack of solidarity.

The tension became more evident when Balogun was conspicuously absent from the star-studded premiere of Everybody Loves Jennifer.

Her absence raised questions, especially among fans who noted the active involvement of other cast members in the movie’s promotional activities.

Amid the drama, Akindele has chosen to maintain her silence, pouring her energy into the global rollout of her film. Currently in the UK for the premiere, the actress has been busy engaging with fans and critics while expanding her international reach.

Meanwhile, Balogun has seemingly shifted her focus to her ambitious new project, Efunroye D Unicon. Industry insiders suggest that Balogun’s preoccupation with her movie may have contributed to her perceived indifference toward Akindele’s film.

However, Balogun broke her silence with a cryptic social media post, stating, “Anyone who blocks me on social media cannot block my connection to God.” Though she did not directly name Akindele, the statement has been widely interpreted as a response to the ongoing rift.

This latest Nollywood feud has left fans divided, with many urging reconciliation while others back the actresses’ respective decisions. A source close to the duo remarked, “This is deeper than just a movie. It feels like unresolved personal issues are now playing out in public.”

Despite the drama, both stars are pressing forward. Akindele remains focused on leveraging her UK premiere to bolster the movie’s global impact, while Balogun continues to drum up anticipation for Efunroye D Unicon.
