Fulani groups pledge support for Kwara govt’s peace, harmony

Members of the Fulani socio-cultural association in the country, the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), Kwara State chapter, have pledged their unwavering support to the state government and host communities across Kwara State for sustained peace and tranquility.

Members of GAFDAN across the 16 local governments of the state, speaking through the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Alhaji Abubakar Idris, announced their unanimous decision to endorse Alhaji Shehu Usman, also known as Garkoan Kwara, as the next chairman to lead the association for the next four years.

GAFDAN also reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Kwara State chapter, and various security outfits across the state to ensure peace and harmony, especially in the Kwara South senatorial area.

In a statement to journalists on the sidelines of his endorsement as the new incoming chairman of GAFDAN in Kwara State, Alhaji Usman expressed gratitude to Allah and to the members of the association for their endorsement.

He promised to implement policies and programs that would directly benefit both the association members and their host communities in the state.

Alhaji Usman, Garkoan Kwara, also expressed appreciation to Alhaji Abubakar Idris, Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kwara State, and members for their support in his endorsement as the next Chairman of GAFDAN in Kwara State.

The members also thanked the state governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for implementing policies and programs that have a direct impact on the lives of the state’s residents.

They urged their members to be law-abiding and to avoid actions that could disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the state.

Meanwhile, the tenure of the outgoing chairman of GAFDAN in the state, Ali Mohammed Jounwiro, is set to come to an end soon.
