Fuel scarcity will be resolved in days, says Osinbajo

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at FEC meeting on Wednesday, November 9, 2017.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has assured Nigerians that the Federal Government will resolve fuel challenges in days.

Speaking during an impromptu visit to Lagos on Monday, Osinbajo stated that, “having held a meeting with major oil marketers this (Monday) morning, within the next few days, we expect the fuel queues to be eliminated.

“This is something that President Muhammadu Buhari is deeply concerned about, mandating all relevant persons to bright an end to the fuel queues. I witnessed first-hand the discomfort that many of us have to contend with.

“We sympathise with you and are working assiduously to eliminate this pain in the shortest possible time. We regret this inconvenience while assuring that all hands are on deck to return things to normalcy.

“We will continue to engage the marketers so this sad episode is not repeated. I do hope that you still find time to reflect on the miracle of Christmas to lift your spirit and that of your family. God bless you and God bless our great nation.”

Nigerians celebrated Christmas amidst acute fuel scarcity which has also affected the cost of living adversely in the past few weeks.
