Fuel Crisis: FG promises to restore normalcy

The Federal Government has promised to restore normalcy to the ongoing fuel crisis which has crippled some sectors of the economy, the transportation sector in particular.

Motorists have been buying a litre of petrol between N900 and N1,200 in the past week owing to commodity shortage in stations in major cities across the country.

But the Minister of State Petroleum (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, on his X formerly Twitter said the government is working round the clock to resolve issues around the fuel scarcity which he attributed to unavoidable logistical challenges like weather concerns that have temporarily disrupted the distribution chain.

“Dear Nigerians, I understand the frustration many of you are feeling due to the fuel queues in cities such as Abuja. Recent flooding on the trucking route and unavoidable logistical challenges due to weather concerns have temporarily disrupted our distribution chain.

“I assure you that our dedicated team is working round the clock to resolve these issues. We are committed to restoring normal fuel supply as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

“Together, we will overcome these challenges,” the Minister’s message read.
