FRSC commences removal of abandoned, broken down vehicles from major roads

THE Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Anambra Command has commenced the removal of all abandoned and broken down vehicles and containers from major roads across the state.

The FRSC Sector Commander in Anambra, Mr Sunday Ajayi made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Friday.

According to him, the action is part of the command’s effort to ensure that major roads were free of traffic.

“As part of our resolve to ensure that our roads are free from traffic, we are removing all forms of obstruction caused by broken-down vehicles and containers.

“Our operations will concentrate on identified areas of Agu-Awka, Upper Iweka, Ihiala, Nteje and Ekwulobia,’’ he said.

Speaking on preparations for the Easter, Ajayi said that the corps would intensify public enlightenment, extension of service periods and enforcement to reduce road accidents.

He also congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of Easter, while urging them to make sure they prepare for their journey to reduce negative events on our roads.
