From Hostess Provider to Wedding Empire: The inspiring journey of Olamide Shonoiki

Published by

Lagos, Nigeria – In an industry where extravagance has become the norm, Olamide Shonoiki is making a name for herself and her company, La’ Heiress Weddings, by offering couples memorable events without breaking the bank. Founded in 2015, La’ Heiress Weddings was born out of the desire to create a balance between luxury and average weddings, catering to couples with a variety of budgets.

Olamide’s journey in the event industry began by providing professional hostesses for events, but she soon realized that she craved more challenges. Thus, her foray into wedding planning commenced. Her company has since planned over 200 events within seven years, including a few celebrity events. Her portfolio includes the weddings of the Ambassador to the United Kingdom’s daughter, Julie Odia, publisher of WOW! Magazine, Influencer Kiekie, University of Ibadan’s Vice Chancellor’s daughter, and Nollywood Actress Seilat Adebowale.

As a wedding planner, Olamide has faced various challenges, including vendor issues, cultural differences, and unhealthy competition. However, these obstacles have only made her stronger and more determined to succeed in her field. Her greatest accomplishment is the satisfaction and happiness of her clients on their wedding day.

Olamide’s current projects include writing a book on weddings, sharing her knowledge and experience in the industry, and providing helpful tips for couples planning their special day. Her goals for the future are ambitious, as she aims to establish a full-fledged Wedding Empire capable of handling every aspect of an event without the need to outsource vendors.

When asked about her personal philosophy, Olamide says, “Integrity first, others follow.” She believes that honesty and integrity are crucial in the event industry and in life in general, setting the foundation for building trust with people, clients, and vendors alike. As for advice to aspiring professionals in her field, she emphasizes standing for something and being known for their business values, under-promising and over-delivering, and never giving up even when things get tough.

In an industry where extravagance often overshadows individuality, Olamide Shonoiki, CEO at La’ Heiress Weddings are making a significant impact by providing couples with an alternative that does not sacrifice quality or personal touches. With a focus on integrity, determination, and creativity, Olamide is well on her way to building a Wedding Empire that caters to a diverse range of clients and budgets.
