FRCN north central zonal office faces closure amid ownership crisis

Family of the former plateau state Chairman of the defunct National Party of Nigeria, NPN, Alhaji Yahaya Sabo have cried out over illegal acquisition of their father’s property by Abdulahi Adamu, immediate past national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for over 25 years without payment.

The family threatened to close the Radio Nigeria North Central Zonal office in Lafia, if the former APC National Chairman continued to occupy the property in the state capital without payment.

Speaking to Journalists in Lafia, Saturday, first son of the former NPN Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Yahaya Sabo alleged that the first civilian governor of the state, Abdullahi Adamu illegally acquired the property belonging to their late father for PDP during his tenure as the governor of the state.

According to Mohammed Sabo, Abdullahi Adamu had pleaded with their late father to assist PDP with the property to use as their temporary office which was gladly obliged because Adamu was their father’s boy.

He wondered why the building would be handed to the FRCN after their father’s demise without the knowledge of the family.

He alleged that the former APC National Chairman sold their father’s house to the state government when he was the governor adding that all efforts to recover their late father’s house have not yielded positive results since the demise of their late father.

“We have been pleading with Abdullahi Adamu to hand over our father’s property for several years now without serious commitment from the former governor of the state. We took Adamu to court, but the late Emir of Lafia, Mustapha Agwai prevailed on us to withdraw the matter from the court for settlement since Adamu has been turning us up and down”, Mohammed said.

According to the head of the late chairman of the defunct NPN, Abdullahi Adamu illegally took over the ownership of the building over 25 years now without doing anything for the family.

“We will continue to fight to reclaim our late fathers’ property. Abdullahi Adamu cannot deprive us of our legitimate right. We will have no choice than to seal up the property being occupied by Radio Nigeria”. Mohammed declared.

Mohammed Yahaya Sabo alleged that the family is now sharply divided as a result of Adamu’s action adding that others have been on him with the allegation that he connived with Adamu to sell the family property.

He appealed to governor Abdullahi Sule and other well meaning citizens of the state to press on Adamu to wear a human face and release their father’s property to the family in the interest of peace and justice.
