A special mass was celebrated on Saturday at Saint Andrews Catholic Church in the Adazi-nukwu community, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, to commemorate the twenty-fifth Priestly Ordination of Reverend Father Joseph Amobichukwu Nwilo.
Reverend Father Nwilo was ordained a Priest in the order of Melkisedek on 15th August 1998.
Speaking shortly after the mass and celebration, Reverend Nwilo expressed feelings of humility and honor. He recounted how his journey to Priesthood began and appreciated God for finding him worthy to serve as a Priest.
Reflecting on the Priesthood journey, Reverend Nwilo emphasized its surprises and intriguing nature. He advised younger Priests to be more committed, trust, and listen to God, as they represent the image of Christ. He prayed for the grace to remain committed.
In a remark, the Traditional ruler of Oba-ofemili Community in Awka North Local Government Area of the State, Igwe Ezekwesili Maduagwuna, on behalf of his community where the celebrant is currently serving, disclosed that blessings have abounded since Reverend Nwilo assumed the post as the Parish Priest. He noted that their Parish has become a pilgrimage center, attracting people facing various life challenges seeking the face of God.
In separate goodwill messages, Mr. Anyacha Celestine Anyacha, Mr. Peter Anyorah, and Sunday Ofodile emphasized the importance of every child of God spreading the good news of Christ’s victory. They highlighted that a strong Christian should believe and trust solely in Christ, manifesting in the way everyone lives.
The anniversary drew the attendance of many Priests, Reverend Sisters from different Parishes, Industrialists, Academia, Business Men and Women, Men of uniformed organizations, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate with Reverend Father Nwilo.
The celebration also featured a special rendition by the choir, thanksgiving, and the presentation and cutting of the priestly anniversary cake, marking the high point of the event.
