Operatives of the Delta Police Command have arrested four suspected cultists and car snatchers in parts of Delta State.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, said the cult suspects were nabbed during a carefully planned raid on April 17 of a hotel located in Issele Azagba.

He gave the names of the suspects, whose activities in the hideout were given exposed to the police, as Ogbuokwu Trust, 23, Augustine Solomon, 20, Edebatu Gideon, and Kingsley Okolie, 20.

He said two locally-made cut-to-size guns and four live cartridges were recovered from the hoodlums.

In another development, DSP Edafe said on the same Easter Sunday, the Command received a distress call from someone that his Toyota Camry car with Reg. No. EFR 939 TK had been snatched at about 8:00p.m at Otu-Jeremi in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

He said with a discreet information network across police checkpoints in the state, on Monday April 18, at about 6:00a.m, operatives of Anti-Crime Patrol of Ogwashi-Uku Police Station, who were on routine stop-and-search duty along Kwale/Ogwashi-Uku expressway by Olloh-Ogwashi Community, intercepted the said Toyota Camry.

He said the driver of the car, on sighting the police, abandoned the car and fled into the woods, but was pursued and arrested.

DSP Edafe gave the identity of the suspect as Mkohol Iligh, aged 57, adding that the suspect disclosed that one CY living in Warri gave him the car to be delivered to someone in Asaba.

He quoted the Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, as commending the efforts of residents of the state for sharing information as well as his men whom he urged to intensify their chase after criminal elements until the state is safe for all.
