Four people, including two hospital workers, have been arrested in Bauchi State over the alleged murder of Polmi Dauda, a 20-year-old security guard.

The late Polmi was allegedly murdered in what is being treated as a potential case of culpable homicide.

The disclosure was made by the Bauchi State Police Command through its PPRO, CSP Ahmed Wakili, in a statement issued to journalists on Sunday, assuring that a diligent investigation into the unfortunate death is ongoing.

According to him, “On March 22, 2025, at about 12:50pm, the victim’s brother, Mr Danda Dauda, reported the unfortunate incident to the Bauchi Metro Area Command.”

He added that, “The case was subsequently referred to the E Divisional Police Headquarters, Yelwa for a thorough investigation.”

According to him, “Mr Dauda reported that Polmi had sustained serious injuries due to an altercation with several individuals at a location adjacent to Larema Hotel, where he worked.”

He pointed out that, “Despite the swift response of medical personnel at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Polmi was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the facility.”

The PPRO disclosed that preliminary investigations suggested the altercation may have stemmed from an allegation of theft involving clothing and personal items belonging to a tenant.
