Four Emirs visit, congratulate Ganduje over Supreme Court victory

FOUR Emirs in Kano State including Emirs of Bichi, Karaye, Rano and Gaya paid a visit to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his electoral victory.

Recall that an election petition was filed against Ganduje’s victory at the polls by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate Abba Kabir Yusuf. The petition was subsequently dismissed by the Supreme Court.

Governor Ganduje during the Emirs’ visit to the Africa House, Government House, Kano, on Monday called on all the Emirs to help the government in securing the state and in other areas of health, environmental sanitation meant for the overall development of the state.

The Emir of Karaye, Ibrahim Abubakar II; Emir of Rano, Tafida Abubakar Ila; Emir of Gaya, Ibrahim Abdulkadir, who was represented by the Sarkin Yakin Gaya, Wada Aliyu, and Emir of Bichi, Aminu Ado Bayero, visited the governor at intervals.

All the Four Emirs relayed the congratulatory messages from their people with commendations from their subjects over the developmental projects Ganduje administration put in place from 2015 to date.

Governor Ganduje prayed for the reposed soul of the late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero while receiving the Emir of Bichi, Aminu Ado Bayero, a son of the late Emir, adding that, “this visit is historic. The very seat you are sitting right now was the seat our father the late Emir Ado Bayero sat sometimes when he came visiting Government House.”

He urged all the Emirs to be up and doing in assisting the state in the free and compulsory primary and secondary schools education, insisting that, “the education of our people rests on all our shoulders. The government cannot do it alone. We need your support and cooperation. So also the support of your people.”
