Four die in Osun auto crash

Tragedy struck on Thursday along Ife-Ilesa expressway in Osun State when four persons lost their lives in an auto crash involving two vehicles, Tribune Online authoritatively gathered.

Our correspondent learnt that the accident occurred 2.50 pm at Balogun junction on the expressway.

Eyewitness hinted that the auto crash involved a Volkswagen Passat marked ABC 918 KY driven by one Ogundele and a Toyota Corolla car with registration number EPE 748 EX.

According to the eyewitness, the Passat car rammed into the Toyota Corolla from the rear and both vehicles somersaulted into a stream beside the expressway.

As a result of the impact of the crash, the driver of the Toyota Corolla and three other occupants inside the car died on the spot.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Osun State Police Command, Mrs Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident.

She explained that the remains of the victims have been retrieved from the crash scene and deposited at the morgue of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife for autopsy while an investigation into the matter was already ongoing.
