Fountain varsity hosts international conference to inspire collaborative research on global challenges

Published by

Fountain University has taken a bold step towards addressing pressing global challenges by hosting its first international conference, themed “Navigating the Dynamics of Religion, Politics, Ethnicity, and Youth for Peace and Development.”

The event, which opened with an address by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ramota Karim, seeks to inspire collaborative research that tackles issues at the intersection of religion, politics, ethnicity, and youth, with the goal of fostering peace and sustainable development.

In her remarks, Prof. Karim emphasized the conference’s unique approach to integrating academic inquiry with Islamic ethics and universal values, creating actionable strategies for societal betterment.

She described the initiative as a landmark achievement for Fountain University and a testament to the institution’s enduring partnership with the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) and its Missionary Institute (NMI).

“Our collaboration bridges the academic and spiritual missions of both institutions, offering a holistic framework for understanding and addressing contemporary challenges,” she stated.

With participants from diverse disciplines and backgrounds, the conference promises to be a platform for dialogue and partnerships that reflect Fountain University’s vision of combining faith and knowledge to impact society positively.

In her words, “As a faith-based institution, we are deeply committed to academic excellence rooted in Islamic values. We encourage our students to embrace both worldly knowledge and spiritual growth, exemplified by the increasing number of students participating in our Madrasah program to perfect their Qur’anic recitation. Last year, we celebrated the Walimatul Qur’an of nine students and look forward to the next edition during our upcoming convocation ceremonies.

“Fountain University is equally proud of its scholarship programmes, which recognize outstanding academic performance and provide financial support to indigent students. It is my heartfelt aspiration to expand these initiatives further to impact even more students positively.

“On a celebratory note, we are preparing for the first induction ceremonies for the Departments of Nursing Science and Medical Laboratory Science. Alhamdulillah, our students achieved a 100% success rate in their recent professional qualifying examinations, a testament to our commitment to excellence.

“This conference serves as a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the building of partnerships that honor the vision of our founders while paving the way for future generations. Over the next three days, I encourage all participants to engage actively, share insights, and explore opportunities for collaboration, she noted.
