Foundation pays NECO fees of indigent students in Sagamu

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Emperor Onyen Foundation, has paid NECO examination fees for 18 indigent students selected from public schools in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Mr Sola Osilaru, while presenting registration payment letters to the beneficiaries, said the Foundation was established to provide succour to indigents in the society and support 

education development in the community.

At the presentation ceremony held at the Isonyindo Palace in Sagamu, Osilaru, encouraged the beneficiaries to study well, and ensure success in the examination with a promise that successful candidates would also be sponsored for JAMB registration in 2026.

“We have rendered assistance to various people in the community to improve their lives in our own little way, one of such a man whose leg was amputated as a result of fatal accident, we assisted him in getting wheelchair to aid his mobility and we donated some amount for a patient who wanted to undergo surgery at Babcock Teaching Hospital to mention a few.

“We want to pay NECO Examination fees for 36 students across communities in Remoland. 11 candidates were picked in Remo North Local Government with 7 candidates in Ikenne  and 18 candidates in Sagamu Local Government to ease the financial burden on the parents,” he said

 The Head of Academic and School Services, Sagamu Local Government Education Authority, Mrs, Morayo Rabiu, appreciated the Foundation for the kind gesture, saying such step would ease the burden of the beneficiaries parents.

While  urging them to put in extra efforts in achieving success in the examination, so as to benefit more from the Foundation.

She admonished their parents to always guide their wards and ensured they turned out to be good ambassadors of their communities.

Rabiu urged them to collaborate with the State government in its quest to improve the education sector for the betterment of the students and the society at large in order to have a crime free society.

Responding on behalf of the teachers and parents, Mr. Adeniyi Allison, thanked the Foundation, submitting that the assistance would go a long way in providing succour to the parents and allow the students to stay focus while preparing for the examination.

 The President, Sagamu Youth Association, Comrade Olugbenga Lawal while thanking the Founder for the gesture, urged beneficiaries to see it as a golden opportunity and ensure they study hard in order to achieve success, calling on well meaning individuals to emulate the gesture.

He pledged the association’s support to the Foundation for the development of Remoland, promising continued support to education development aimed at making life more meaningful to students and youths in general.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Anika Dorcas, student appreciated the Founder, promising to work hard to replicate the gesture.

The beneficiaries includes, Gbemisoye Peter, Makun High School, Fasusi Praise Olumide, Sagamu High School, Aminat Boluwatife, Muslim High School among others.
