Foundation empowers 200 in Ogun

Published by

The Omo Adelusi Foundation (OAF) established by Chief Adebayo Odunowo, has empowered women, including widows across wards in Odogbolu, Ikenne, Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode local government areas of Ogun State.

Odunowo, who is also a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, said he  embarked on the initiative to support and care for widows and orphans.

“I believe that if we empower women, we have empowered the family and, by extension, the society. Support for the widows is part of our group’s target. We hope to reach out to all the remaining local government areas in Ogun East senatorial district in the next empowerment programme,’’ he said.

Chairman of the programme, Mrs Adesola Oyebade, a former board member of  Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC),  urged widows to be steadfast in the Lord for the promises of God to be fulfilled in their lives, noting that being in a state of widowhood does not make them less human.

She added that the founder needs the widows’ prayers to be blessed and continue to do more for them and the underprivileged.

On his part, chairman of the APC in Odogbolu Local Government Area, Muyiwa Idowu, commended the founder, saying he is on the right path to ensure the continuous growth of the foundation.

He advised the beneficiaries to always pray for their children and the donor to excel in their daily activities.

Also, a former member of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Adebowale Ojuri, in his remarks,  urged the beneficiaries to always put their trust in God and make sure they do not see themselves as vulnerable anymore, adding that the donor is concerned about women productivity in all areas.
