Some of the beneficiaries
314 indigent students in tertiary institutions across Bauchi State have been given various sums as scholarships totalling the sum of N8.3m by a foundation known as the Nura Manu Soro Foundation in line with the announcement it made on the 12th of May 2019 to support them in the payment of their registration fees.
This was disclosed by the Founder of the Foundation, Alhaji Nura Manu Soro on Thursday while addressing newsmen in his office saying that it is the first phase of the disbursement.

According to him, the beneficiaries were selected from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, (ATAP) Bauchi, Bauchi State University Gadau, (BASUG) and Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.
He also expressed the Foundation’s resolve to continue with the disbursement in order to extend the gesture to teeming less privileged students in the state.
Manu Soro noted that the foundation would constitute a scholarship screening committee with representation from the traditional institutions, Islamic schools, primary, secondary schools and tertiary institutions who will be charged with the responsibility of selecting and shortlisting the beneficiaries.
While commenting on how positively the activities of the foundation have affected students of the state, the president National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS), Comrade Ibrahim Hashim Abdullahi lauded the foundation for the gesture saying it brings succour to the less privileged students.
