The Head Department of Forest Production and Products of the University of Ibadan, Professor Ayodeji Oludare Omole, has been decorated as the president of AndTop Charity Foundation.
The foundation said the appointment reflects its confidence in Omole’s leadership, vision, and commitment to advancing the foundation’s mission of bridging the achievement gap and fostering positive societal impact.
The Foundation said it is thrilled to have someone of Omole’s calibre assume the role, adding that it is confident that his leadership would take AndTop Charity Foundation to greater heights.
The Director of Programmes and Strategic Planning of AndTop, Mrs Esther Adenaike, said: “As president, we entrust you to play a pivotal role in advocating for the Foundation, work closely with the founders and the Board of Trustees to provide strategic direction and ensure the successful execution of our programmes and initiatives.
“Your role will be critical in shaping the future of the Foundation, strengthening partnerships, and expanding our reach to underserved communities.
“Your leadership will play an instrumental role in ensuring that the Foundation continues to thrive and create meaningful impact through creative initiatives.”
In his remarks, Professor Omole lauded the foundation for considering him worthy to be its president, just as he pledged to uplift the foundation.
Omole said AndTop is a household name already, adding that his responsibility is to further develop the solid foundation and take it beyond its present status.
He also promised to discharge his responsibility to the best of his knowledge.
“No matter how buoyant you are, if you have not impacted life positively, the money is useless. It is when you spread resources that you have a meaningful impact on people.
“I will try my best because I know it’s an additional task but I promise that I will not disappoint and I will also use the little resources available to me to expand the cost of AndTop Foundation,” Professor Omole said.
He urged other well-meaning individuals to emulate the AndTop Foundation and assist the underprivileged in the society.
Speaking further, the don said: “If we assist one another in one way or the other, society will be better off. I will just advise that rather than using our resources to oppress, use it to assist the underprivileged.
“The appointment is a challenge and whatever task is given to me, I will perform it with all my heart.”
