A former branch chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ibadan North East II interstate branch, Alhaji Waheed Adeoyo, has urged members of the union in Oyo State to make peace their watchword as a new administration in the state would be inaugurated on May 29, 2019.
Adeoyo, made the plea in Ibadan on Wednesday, while addressing some members of the union.
He noted that it is a known fact that the change of leadership in the union always coincides with the change of administration at the state government level.
“There is no doubt about the fact that change of leadership in our union usually happens same time a new administration in the state governance is being ushered in.
“It is on this note that I want to plead with you to please desist from acts capable of disrupting the peace of the state particularly before, during and after the inauguration of a new government which would be headed by Engineer Seyi Makinde.”
Adeoyo, who acquired his first driver’s license in 1977, further stated that one of the reasons he is aspiring to become the next NURTW chairman in Oyo State aside the fact that he is the most qualified is to ensure that road transportation system in the state conforms with world standard and make thuggery and hooliganism things of the past.
