Former Adamawa speaker liaises with international institute to address constituents’ needs

The former speaker of Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Kabiru Mijinyawa, has told residents of his constituency that he will liaise with the International Republic Institute (IRI) to address some of the constituency’s needs.

Mijinyawa who is a second-term member representing Yola South Constituency reassured the constituents at a town hall meeting in Yola of his commitment towards meeting their legislative yearnings.

The former speaker further said the essence of the meeting was to thank his constituents for their support and chart ways to address the challenges facing them.

While enumerating some of the achievements recorded during his first time in office, Mijinyawa said he prioritised education which allowed over ten thousand students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions benefit from his scholarship scheme.

Mijinyawa assured the people of his commitment to championing all their concerns at the State Assembly. He, amongst other things, assured that he will do everything possible to provide more dividends of democracy to them.

In their separate submissions, the representatives of the eleven wards of Yola South Constituency outlined some of the areas the lawmaker should focus on.

The areas include provision of adequate portable water, health care facilities in some areas, educational infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, evacuation of drainages and refuse among other people-oriented programmes.

They commended the lawmaker for the successes recorded during his first tenure in office and urged him to double his efforts towards providing more developmental projects to the people of his constituency.
