It is unfortunate that our government in this country does not prevent problems until the problems get out of hand. And when those problems get out of hand, the government spend fund, which shzould be expended on other meaningful projects, on the problems. The state of a portion of the road, linking the second Challenge roundabout also known as Idi Odo, with the Baptist Church, is the reason for the above background.
That portion, which started to cave in few months ago, is now a point where all drivers need to apply brake to access it or cause mechanical problem for their vehicles. And since the potholes have continued to spread to other points, vehicular traffic has been a daily occurence. Impatient drivers are always seen raining curses on one another, a situation that, on some occasion, leads to assault.

The traffic wardens, stationed at the roundabout, don’t bother themselves as they carry on at the roundabout as if the troublesome spot is not on the highway.
It is high time, Oyo State Ministry of Works wakes up from slumber and act fast before the spot turns to full-blown embarrassment to Oyo State Government given the fact that drivers from Lagos now pass through Challenge-Molete-Oja’ba-Gate to connect Iwo road in face of usual gridlock on Lagos-Ibadan expressway, especially at weekends.
I want to believe that this alert would reach the right quarters in order to get the failed portion fixed before the yuletide when traffic is expected to increase on the road.
