The young lady with a Muslim background revealed that her journey to Christendom started through an encounter with a young youth corps member who taught her English in secondary school, and who, today, is a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

What happened after becoming a Christian and decided to pursue a career in music? Folake Idowu said, “The persecution from my father’s family was intense, but God helped me to stand my ground in school as some Christian teachers took me under their tutelage. From there, I started my basic training as a musician. I led the school choir and fellowship in various capacities and was always in the forefront of Christian worship at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Now a practising pharmacist for over 15 years and also an entrepreneur with a healthcare business by the side, she gives glory to God with a concert tagged, ‘Folake Idowu live in concert’ to be held at the Aurora Conference Centre, Osogbo, on Sunday 28, October with the theme, “Make His praise glorious”.
The event is packaged in conjunction with Sybuk Communication and will also witness performances from Toun Soetan, Yetunde Are, Tolucci, Woli Agba, among others.
