Over 1,000 participants have benefited from two empowerment programmes on essential digital skills: Empower Her 1.0 and Remote Work 3.0 organised by Focus on Growth and Development (FOGDEV)
The Empower Her 1.0 programme, according to FOGDEV, aimed to reduce the gender gap in technology by engaging women from diverse backgrounds, including stay-at-home moms and aspiring entrepreneurs, in sessions on digital marketing and graphic design.
FOGDEV’s Programme Coordinator, Olufunmi Fatokun, emphasised, “Empowering women with digital skills is key to changing communities and growing the economy.”
The organisation also said through Remote Work 3.0, it trained participants in the essentials of remote work, covering both technical tools and vital soft skills like accountability and effective communication.
The programme coordinator in her words noted, “Remote work isn’t just a buzzword anymore—it’s the future,” stressing the need for Nigerians to seize these opportunities.
The organisation said it is committed to bridging the education-employment gap, with plans for ongoing mentorship and future programmes like Remote Work 4.0., adding that these initiatives will ensure that Nigerians are not just observers in the evolving job market but active participants ready to thrive.
